The Honey Boo Boo clan’s situation is just getting worse and worse.
To recap, Mama June Shannon was recently photographed in the company of Mark McDaniel, an old flame and accused child molester. This didn’t exactly gel with the wholesome country bubblegum image of the show, so TLC canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo in short order.
Then 20-year-old Anna Cardwell, June’s eldest daughter, spoke out saying McDaniel molested her when she was a child.

Now, Radar Online has obtained a police report related to McDaniel’s 2003 indictment on charges of aggravated child molestation and sexual battery. The details of the report are so upsetting, Radar Online chose not to publish them in full. If we had the details, we wouldn’t either. No one needs to know all of that stuff. What we do know is sad and disturbing enough.
The report, in so many words, alleges McDaniel engaged in unlawful oral sex, pornographic video viewing and masturbation and penetration, among other things, with an 8-year-old member of the Shannon family. The abuse lasted for several months.
Cardwell confirmed to Radar Online that she was the victim of these acts.
The case was eventually thrown out, but McDaniel ended up serving 10 years in prison for another set of child molestation charges. Nice guy, right?
Which is why it’s so puzzling that a family that seemed so invested in each other would be caught up with someone with such a record. Mama June, what are you thinking? She’s certainly not the first person to circle back to an alleged molester and abuser, but doesn’t she know she’s a celebrity, that we can see what she and her family are doing?
We hope Cardwell gets any help and support she needs as her past pains are laid bare, but it is worth noting she, as a married mother and abuse survivor, has already shown incredible strength in stepping forward.
