Alyssa Milano shares intimate, important breastfeeding snapshot (PHOTO)

It’s been seven weeks since Alyssa Milano gave birth to her daughter and she’s sure enjoying the time she has with her new baby. The actress shared her joy by posting a moment of mother-daughter time with a sweet breastfeeding photo on Instagram.

Milano posted a beautiful black-and-white snapshot of herself while her baby daughter happily breastfed in her arms. The former Who’s the Boss? star also posted a quote from Milan Kundera as her caption for the pretty shot.

“Ah, the joy of suckling! She lovingly watched the fishlike motions of the toothless mouth and she imagined that with her milk there flowed into her little son her deepest thoughts, concepts, and dreams,” the quote reads.

One of the growing number of celebrities that have posted on social media photos of their babies breastfeeding, Milano showed her support with a bold, but very realistic picture. The soon-to-be Mistresses alum didn’t set up any props or pose in a magazine-like style; she simply took the photo as she is at home, making herself relatable to all the other “normal” moms out there.

Milano, who is also mom to 3-year-old Milo Thomas, didn’t always have it easy with breastfeeding, however. When her son was first born, she admitted that sometimes she felt like giving up on nursing because it was so difficult. But, after the first three weeks, Milano said it got much easier and all the challenges at the beginning were all worth it.

“The first three weeks are really hard and there were so many days that I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can do this.’ One of my best friends is Jewel; she gave birth two months before me and she was sort of my advocate,” Milano said in an interview with The Bump. “Every time that I felt unsure that I could keep going she’d say, ‘No, you can do it, power through it. I promise you, it is not this hard the whole time. Just get through the first three weeks!'”
