With his wife, Tori Spelling, still hospitalized for the nervous breakdown she suffered last week, McDermott was spotted doing some casual shopping — for sex toys. Shutterbugs caught the actor leaving a sex shop in Encino Calfornia over the weekend with a bag of purchases.
It’s just the latest in what’s become a long, depressing saga that seems to be signaling the end of the pair’s extremely rocky marriage, which has faced challenges from infidelity to alcoholism.

Considering all the pair has been through lately, coupled with the fact that Spelling is recovering from her nervous breakdown as well as bronchitis, sinusitis and pneumonia, you’d think McDermott would want to be at his ailing wife’s bedside as much as possible. And despite what he seems to think, dildos are probably not the best choice he could have made to make Spelling’s hospital stay more comfortable.
He’s obviously not absent because Spelling doesn’t want him there. On Thursday, she posted to Instagram a photo from her hospital bed with the caption, “This sick in hospital I finally see how quickly life can take it all away frm you. We all need 2 step up frm inside& go 4 it! W/our friends by our side. Sadly I’ve finally faced truth that 1 person will never be there 4 me #TrueTori”
Clearly, the “one person” who isn’t there for her is her husband, because instead of staying at her side while she struggles to recover, he’s buying sex toys. Their relationship drama continues to play out on their reality show, True Tori, where, in a teaser for the upcoming episode, Tori admits she “[doesn’t] even know anymore” why she’s still with McDermott.
