Russell Brand wishes he were bisexual

Russell Brand’s sexuality has always been something of a question mark, but he is finally opening up about his love for women. The actor spoke with radio host Geoff Lloyd when he acted as if he were going to give him a big kiss.

“Oh, Geoff, I wish I was bisexual,” Brand joked, adding that his upbringing led him to the decision. “That’s one of the things about me where I’ve got a very traditional moral code. I’m tedious with my heterosexuality.”

Although Brand has been married, he has played gay characters in the past — which seem pretty true to life. According to the Huffington Post, he even recently admitted that during his TV show Re:Brand, in 2002, he engaged in a sex act with another man while filming. The act made him re-think his sexuality.

“I w***ed off a man in a toilet,” he said. “I thought, ‘I think of myself as heterosexual but perhaps that’s ’cause of the environment that I grew up in where homosexuality may have been difficult for me to express.”

Brand finds himself single once again, having recently split with journalist Jemima Khan. And although the comedian might seem like the sleazy celebrity he regularly plays, he explained he has a very important outlook on any relationship he is in.

“Well, you’ve got to go into relationships with the right attitude. All relationships, I’m always positive about them,” he said.

Brand has been a supporter of LGBTQ causes for years, and has spoken out about those who have tried to protest the cause — including the Westboro Baptist Church back in 2012.
