Anne Hathaway has been married to Adam Shulman since 2012, but during a recent interview with The Telegraph, the actress revealed that marriage was not at all what she had expected it to be.
Anne Hathaway is scared of people from third world countries
“When we got married, I thought it was a great party,” the Oscar-winning actress said. “I honestly thought we were doing it more for tradition. I wasn’t prepared for the radical shift my heart was going to have.”
Maintaining a healthy marriage can be difficult when Hathaway has to leave to film on different locations so often, but her jewelry designer and actor husband is willing to travel to be with her on set. Which is lucky for Hathaway because she and costar Matthew McConaughey were shipped all over the world from cornfields in Calgary, Alberta, to the bitter cold of Iceland to film their latest movie Interstellar.
Matthew McConaughey already has his eye on the prize
“I’m very fortunate that my husband has a job that allows him to travel and kind of make his own schedule, so he travels with me whenever possible,” she told the publication. “Sometimes that’s not possible and whenever that happens, we have a rule that we aren’t apart for more than two weeks.”
And filming Interstellar was not an easy feat because there was a scene where Hathaway was filming in freezing cold waters and her space suit started to leak!
“It was a scene where my character becomes submerged in water and trapped, so I go down in the water expecting it’s probably not going to be warm, but I will at least be dry,” she recalled. “But after about 10 seconds the suit is totally full of water. I don’t know what’s happening or why, but everybody is hurting and cold so I don’t say anything about it and wonder, ‘How long can this last?’ Well, it did last and I became tingly and couldn’t feel anything and things were starting to get a bit hazy around the edges. I thought Chris [director Christopher Nolan] is going to be way more annoyed if I die of hypothermia than he is if I speak up about it and maybe delay filming for five minutes.”

“So I threw caution to the wind and told him what was going on and he said, ‘OK, let’s roll right now.’ And we were done. I was just really, really, really cold and it’s not that Chris sent me off to get warmed up,” she laughed. “Wimps don’t last long on his set.”
With all the Hatha-haters in this world, we’re glad Hathaway at least has the support of her husband.
