Kirk Cameron may be one of the most enigmatic characters of the TGI Friday generation. Cameron grew up on Growing Pains as the TV son of Alan Thicke and became something of a teen idol. Not to mention, he is the brother of Full House‘s Candace Cameron Bure.

But since his time on the show, he has become a devout Christian (and is proud of it) and has all but disappeared from popular culture. But could this make Cameron prime for American audiences?
Cameron showed up over the weekend at Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald’s wedding in Arkansas, explaining he wanted to bring his daughters so they could see a wedding where the couple had not yet kissed.
“I want them to see that and go, ‘That’s what I want for my marriage,'” Cameron told People. “Nobody does this. And as a dad, it thrills your heart. I want a guy that honors and respects my daughters like Ben is respecting Jessa.”
He posted a photo with the couple on Facebook.
We have seen time and time again how everyone and their dog has a reality show these days, and a former-Hollywood-celeb-turned-born-again-Christian is not the worst idea that has made its way onto our TVs.

19 Kids and Counting seemed like a random idea at first, but that show has done well — largely due to the interest in their beliefs and way of life. Cameron’s disappearance from the public eye (except on an occasional Lifetime movie), as well as his own way of life — and his six children — could make him the perfect target for a new show. But with his devout beliefs, his agreeing may be another story.
