Is Cruella de Vil at long last going to make her presence felt in Storybrooke?
That’s the question on everyone’s/our lips following the news that a Dracula alum has been tapped to join Once Upon a Time‘s fourth season.

Per Entertainment Weekly, which broke the news, Victoria Smurfit (who you may know from her fashion-forward turn as Dracula‘s Lady Jayne Wetherby) has been cast as an “iconic character who will first be teased in the winter finale”. While any further juicy information on the role is being kept under wraps for now, we do know the character will appear in the second half of Once Upon a Time‘s current season.

We’re not ones to speculate… wait, what am I saying? Of course, we are! We can’t help but notice that among the wealth of traditionally “bad” female characters Once Upon a Time has trotted out so far, Cruella de Vil has been glaringly absent. Plus, C-deV (our new nickname for her) seems to be the only truly iconic character, good or bad, yet to feature on the show, so all the odds are pointing in her cruel and devilish direction.

In the interest of full disclosure, we should point out that there are also a handful of theories circling the interwebs that suggest the iconic character in question may actually be the original Sleeping Beauty. But, we’re choosing to conveniently ignore that speculation because we want it to be Cruella. Us wanting it to be her is all that’s required for it to happen, right?
