Katie Holmes may be 35 years old, but this year she is about to host her first ever Thanksgiving feast. The problem is she really, really doesn’t know how to cook!
Wow, being married to Tom Cruise sounds awful, and Katie Holmes confirms it
The Dawson’s Creek alum appeared on The Late Show recently, and she was very keen to talk about her excitement over learning how to cook a full-on feast.
“I’m very excited because I’m the baby of five, and I’ve been using that for a long time, but this year I’m taking responsibility and my mother’s going to teach me how to make a turkey,” she told the show’s host, David Letterman. “I am going to pull the gizzards out,” she added with a laugh.
Letterman decided to offer up some cooking tips for the clearly clueless actress (we’re guessing Tom Cruise did most of the cooking during the couple’s six-yearlong relationship).
No, thanks: Katie Holmes to reprise her lackluster Jackie Kennedy role
“Turkey is easy, you’re going to roast it right?” Letterman asked his guest.
“Well, I don’t know, is that what you do?” Holmes said, looking rather flustered.
“A lot of people boil it in hot oil. I wouldn’t recommend that,” Letterman replied.
“Deep fried is so good,” Holmes continued.
The conversation then gets a little bizarre as the pair discuss turkey feasts and what size is the right size bird to make, how many guests will be at Holmes’ Thanksgiving party and their moms’ stuffing recipes. Not to mention the dangers of falling face first into a turkey and/or hot oil!
Yes, we’re pretty sure this latest chat with Letterman is just going to make Holmes even more terrified to get cooking!
