Hank Baskett gets real about cheating scandal, talks suicidal thoughts

Hank Baskett has not had a very good year because he very nearly lost his family after the news of his alleged affair with transsexual model Ava London broke. However, the former NFL player now admits that there was something he hasn’t been honest about.

Kendra Wilkinson hears her husband’s sex tape and still isn’t leaving him

In an emotional new interview, Baskett revealed the reason why it has taken him so long to come clean to his wife, Kendra Wilkinson, and the reason is because he has been silently suffering from severe depression.

“For the past two years, I’ve gone through a serious struggle with depression, and during that time I lost the ability to open up to my best friend, Kendra,” Hank told Us Weekly, via HollywoodLife. “I had trouble thinking of the right thing to say the right way, especially in a situation like this, where it’s your word against someone else’s. One wrong word and I could lose everything.”

Did Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett really just call it quits?

It’s a sad situation, because if Baskett had been able to open up to his wife they may have been able to avoid all of this drama in the first place. The former The Girls Next Door star has been desperate for her husband to give her answers, but it appears that his inner struggles were holding him back.

“I hit bottom. My greatest fear is losing my family. That’s all I live for,” he confessed to the publication.

Baskett’s problems started at the end of his career in 2011 when his five-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings was over, and with it his identity.

“I completely lost my identity. I started holding everything in because I felt like no one could understand,” he said.

Baskett also admitted to contemplating ending his own life.

Kendra on Top: Hank finally opens up to Kendra — is it enough?

“There was a point when I felt I couldn’t defend myself and there was no way for me to make it through this. It’s an extremely tough feeling,” he said. “But I realized there’s no way I could ever check out on my kids and my wife. I’m not a quitter.”
