James Cameron has some crazy expletives for the Avatar sequels

For someone who is known for being more about the business and less about the play, director, James Cameron, seems pretty hyped about his Avatar sequels.

They’re gonna be bitchin’. You will shit yourself with your mouth wide open,” Cameron said during an interview with Empire magazine.

Well, OK then.

We’re now unsure if we should be overly excited or slightly terrified. Maybe a bit of both?

Luckily, Cameron didn’t stop there. He also gave the outlet a look at his creative process moving forward. “I think we met for seven months and we whiteboarded out every scene in every film together. And I didn’t assign each writer which film they were going to work on until the last day. I knew if I assigned them their scripts ahead of time, they’d tune out every time we were talking about the other movie.”

Avatar tops Titanic!

Avatar, which was released in 2009, was a worldwide success and one of the highest-grossing movies ever. It also won three Oscars.

The first movie took decades for Cameron to finally complete, since the technology had to catch up with the director’s vision. But, it clearly isn’t an easy undertaking, even in today’s modern world. The second film is starting production with a planned release date sometime in 2016.

According to rumors, Cameron is planning on shooting some footage for the film seven miles underwater in the Challenger Deep. Cameron is an avid fan of diving and the underwater world, which inspired a lot of the creatures you see in Avatar.

There’s also a good chance that Avatar 2 will not tell a linear story. When discussing the possibility of seeing Sigourney Weaver again in the story, Cameron told Vulture, “Did I say she was going to be in Avatar 2?” Cameron said with a grin. “Well, I don’t want to disabuse her of that fantasy. But have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She’s there for fifteen years ahead of time.”

As of now, Avatar is expected to be a full trilogy.
