The Return of The Walking Dead

Hold on to your brain!!! You’re going to need it this October, When AMC’s critically acclaimed original series, The Walking Dead comes smashing through television sets with its much anticipated second season.

They are back…

It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that AMC’s post-apocalyptic zombie television series The Walking Dead is back for more, considering the season one episode ‘Day’s Gone Bye’ was the highest rated cable show for 2010. The premiere will kick off a two week long Fearfest on AMC and once again provide viewers with a 90-minute premiere episode followed by 6 one-hour episodes in the following weeks. The final 6 episodes will resume on Sunday, February 12th at 9pm ET.

This Walking Dead left us with so many questions at the end of the first season, which was a story based on the aftermath of a Zombie caused apocalypse. It is focused on a small group of survivors led by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln – Love Actually), who was a deputy sheriff in a small town before the outbreak. The group is trying to make it across the United States in search of a safe haven from the hordes of undead or “walkers” as the survivors have nicknamed them. They end the season arriving in Atlanta where they had been told by one survivor that the CDC had set up a quarantined safe-zone in the city. Upon arrival they find that only one single member of the CDC staff (Dr. Jenner) remains as the others have all fled or killed themselves. Although Dr. Jenner shared his research on the cause of the zombie apocalypse, it’s too little too late for a group hoping for safety. The group is forced to flee, but just before they leave, Dr. Jenner informs them that the French may have found a cure…He also whispers something into Rick’s ear.

hungry anyone?

We have been as hungry for season two as the “walkers” are for some fresh brain. This show keeps you on the edge of your seat with the perfect mix between zombie horror and TV drama. Yes, they throw a little love triangle in the mix between Rick’s pre-apocalypse sheriff’s department partner Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal), and Rick’s wife Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies). The drama, along with great back stories in the midst of the constant fear and chaos, makes it a great show even if you are not a Zombie lover.

What did Dr. Jenner whisper at the end of the last episode? Will the group try to make it to the cure based on another rumour? What choice do they have? What will Rick do when he finds out about Shane and Lori?

Find out 9pm ET on Sunday, October 16th
