Breaking News: Guilty Verdict In Conrad Murray Trial

Almost two and a half years after pop singer Michael Jackson died from a lethal overdose of propofol, and after weeks of a trial where his Dr Conrad Murray has been accused of involuntary manslaughter for providing the deadly drug, the wait is over. The jury just came back after only 10 hours of deliberation time spread out over two days with a verdict of guilty.

Guilty

Conrad Murray has been found guilty of negligence in the involuntary manslaughter trial and death of Michael Jackson. Jury deliberations took just 10 hours over a two day period which left most “experts” thinking Conrad Murray would be found guilty. They were correct.

As soon as the verdict was read, the crowd outside the courthouse began to cheer. Conrad Murray sat without expression, much as he did the entire trial. He did not seem shocked, surprised, or even upset when the verdict was returned. The verdict was witnessed by several members of Michael Jackson’s family including LaToya Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, and his parents Joe and Katherine Jackson.

Straight to jail

After the jury was released a sentencing date of 11/29 was set and the prosecution asked for Conrad Murray to be immediately taken into custody instead of being allowed to live freely for another three weeks. The defense attorney’s claimed that he has family obligations that he has to take care of before being taken into custody.

The judge weighed in and ordered that Conrad Murray be remanded immediately into custody, in order to protect the public. After all, he points out, “Conrad Murray was found guilty of murder.” Bail has been denied until the sentencing date and Conrad Murray will immediately begin serving time for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. Again, Conrad Murray sat emotionless.

As the judge adjourned the courtroom, Conrad Murray was handcuffed and taken away to jail. Do think this verdict is fair?
