Popular actor and stage director John Neville passed away over the weekend surrounded by family in Toronto, Ontario after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

John Neville started his long, successful career in England over 60 years ago when he began acting in West End plays and became known as a great stage actor starring in plays such as Romeo and Juliet, Richard II and Othello. In 1972 John Neville left England and moved with his family to Canada where he began performing on the Canadian stage with as much success as he had seen in England.
In 1995 John Neville began a reoccurring role as the Well-Manicured Man in the television series The X Files. This role lasted him three years and helped him become a household name across Canada as well as the United States. Around this time he also had parts in big named movies including Little Women, Regeneration, The Fifth Element and Time of the Wolf.

Not only did John Neville act, but he also was put into the role of artistic director for theaters he performed at in both England and Canada. The other actors and directors he worked with considered John Neville a gifted man.
On November 19, 2011, John Neville died “peacefully surrounded by family”. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Caroline, their six children and six grandchildren. The family plans a private burial immediately and will announce a date for a public memorial after the New Year.
