Oprah – the godmother? It is reported that power celebrity couple Beyonce and Jay-Z have named Oprah as godmother to Blue Ivy.

It looks like when Beyonce chose a godmother for Blue Ivy, she only chose the best. Radar Online has reported that the Bootylicious singer and her rapper beau, Jay-Z, have named the queen of daytime talk television godmother to their newest addition.
The reason for the choice is the apparent growing bond and relationship between the couple and the television personality. The surprising report also claims that the godfather to music royalty tot is Jay-Z’s friend, Tyran “Ty,Ty” Smith.
It would definitely make sense though to choose Oprah as godmother, though. Not only has she entertained the world with her daytime talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, she is also known for her outstanding philanthropy to great projects such as her Oprah’s Angel Network and her Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
But there’s still one question that still remains on everyone’s mind: Why didn’t Bey Bey chose fellow Destiny’s Child member and friend, Kelly Rowland to be godmother?
Kelly hasn’t said anything about the reports yet but according to a current interview with E! Online, Kelly can’t stop talking about the beauty of the newborn.
“We all just stared at her, I just stared at her. She is so beautiful.”
It’s good to see that she doesn’t have any hard feelings.
