It’s these kinds of details that bring us that much closer to our favourite stars. Daniel Radcliffe discusses his naked gay sex scenes in his newest independent film endeavour, Kill Your Darlings.
He’s not Harry Potter anymore — that’s for sure.
Daniel Radcliffe, the prince of the wizarding franchise, attended the Sundance Film Festival to promote his newest film, Kill Your Darlings, and chatted about indie films as well as the much-talked-about gay sex scene.
The John Krokidas-directed movie recounts the story of David Kammerer’s (Michael C. Hall) murder by Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan), which brought together fellow Beat generation writers Allen Ginsberg (Radcliffe), Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster). Radcliffe is quite excited about new opportunities to promote his independent films.
“It’s a sign that that’s where really interesting films get made,” the actor told E! News. “Something could start as an indie film, but it doesn’t have to stay that, because you can still make something into a commercial success. For me a moment of pride was when some list that came out about the top-grossing movies in England last year, and [The Woman in Black] was the only one in the top 15 that wasn’t a studio film. That felt really good.”

Yeah, yeah, that’s all very good and noble, but let’s get to the juicy stuff. What of the steamy amigo-on-amigo action? We need details!
“It was something new,” Radcliffe said. “But you know what, we shot that whole scene in maybe an hour and a half, so it was incredibly fast paced. I didn’t really have time to stop to think and worry about it.
“John was very helpful in furnishing me with a lot of graphic detail of what I would be experiencing at the various stages.”
Excellent stuff. This amps up the movie just a little bit more. Do you think you will be seeing Kill Your Darlings when it hits theatres?
