The fall season is synonymous with change. The warm weather turns cooler, the leaves change colour, our kids head back to school, and our TV schedule gets more packed. Late summer and early fall usually bring out the TV networks’ newest shows, and figuring out which are worth our precious time can be hard. Here are some new shows premiering this fall that you might want to give a chance.
Whose Line Is It Anyway?
The title probably sounds familiar, and that’s because you’re likely remembering Drew Carey’s series from several years back. Many of that series’ actors will again grace the stage of this comical show of quick wits. Aisha Tyler joins the cast as the new show’s host, and it’s bound to be just as funny as it ever was.
In the Flesh
It has already aired in the U.K., and now it’s coming to North America. This three-part miniseries follows the story of a teenage boy who is brought back from the dead. With all the success of the latest zombie movies and TV shows, this one has a large fan base to start with.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
If you’re a fan of Once Upon a Time, you will love this spinoff that features Alice from Alice in Wonderland. The success of its predecessor will likely bring fans over to this new series and the fun, intertwining adventures of its whimsical characters.

Ray Donovan
This new series from Showtime follows main character Ray Donovan, who is known as the “fix it” man for L.A.’s rich and famous. The drama centres not only on Ray’s problem-solving skills but also on the one big problem he can’t seem to solve: his father’s unwelcome return from prison.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division — better known as S.H.I.E.L.D. — was introduced to us in both The Avengers and Iron Man, and the story continues. This loose spinoff follows the agents as they focus on exciting, action-packed missions.

Low Winter Sun
A remake of the British series with the same name, this new show follows a Detroit detective who thinks he’s gotten away with the perfect crime.

The Fosters
If you’re looking for a TV show that breaks the typical family mould, The Fosters is for you. This story follows a multi-ethnic family with a mix of foster children, adopted children and biological children, all being raised by two loving mothers.

Orange Is the New Black
This Netflix TV show, premiering in July 2013, focuses on a woman who’s making a new life for herself — inside prison walls. Dealing with illegal drug money has gotten her thrown into prison, where she’ll learn new criminal life lessons.

This new CBS TV show is based on the Stephen King novel with the same name. This sci-fi thriller follows the story of a town that is cut off from the rest of the world when a mysterious dome covers it.
