Earlier this week, comedian and actor Russell Brand sat down with Newsnight’s Jeremy Paxman for a conversation about voting and the potential uprise of a revolution. While Brand’s ideas were nothing short of eccentric, you can’t help but wonder if they hold some validity. Here’s a list of a few more controversial superstars we feel have the potential to lead an angry mob.
Beyoncé
Everyone knows this is Beyoncé‘s world and we’re just living in it. This fierce singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and new mom has arguably already built her “single ladies” mob, with anthems that both empower and uplift female audiences everywhere. The combination of her unwavering class and her undeniable sensuality makes this female powerhouse a prime example of a female role model. While the majority of her famous female singer’s lyrics are composed mainly of using sexuality to gain respect, Beyoncé sings about equality between the two genders and emphasizes the empowerment of women with songs like “Run the World (Girls)” and “If I Were a Boy.”
Tina Fey
Need we say more? This funny front woman was the face of Saturday Night Live for almost an entire decade. Many of her appearances on the show, including numerous “Weekend Update” skits, aimed to point out injustices or flaws within politic systems. Not only is Tina Fey funny and smart but also charitable. The writer has worked with Autism Speaks by performing comedy shows that benefit the organization. Every good leader needs a sense of humour, which makes Fey the perfect fit.
Betty White
If wisdom truly comes with age, then your best nominee would be actress and comedian Betty White. This pretty lady knows the ropes, and with years of experience, she could be unstoppable. And when it comes to furry friends, there is no bigger advocate. White is a huge pet enthusiast who has worked with the Los Angeles Zoo Commission, Morris Animal Foundation and Actors & Others for Animals!
