Some people want you to read their minds. Shia LaBeouf has a bit of a riddle for us. The actor walked the red carpet sporting a brown paper bag with an unusual message on it.
Shia LaBeouf, is that you? You’re looking a little different…
The 27-year-old actor has been displaying highly bizarre behaviour during his trip to Germany, but his choice of head wear for the premiere of Nymphomaniac at the Berlin International Film Festival really takes the cake.

LaBeouf showed up on the red carpet wearing a sleek black suit and a super-sexy paper bag embellished with the words “I am not famous anymore.” Coincidentally enough (or not so much), the actor has been tweeting that exact statement every day since Jan. 13. Must be some kind of mantra. If you wish it long enough…
To ramp up the aura of mystery, LaBeouf provided no explanation for his unusual accessory choice. Maybe he thought his head was a sandwich? Luckily we’ve come up with a few theories to try to explain the unexpected attendance of the paper bag prince.
1. He’s choosing to not be famous
Maybe LaBeouf thought that only he should wield his fate and decided that as of that moment, he is no longer famous. It’s a cute concept though impossible. Yet we can all probably agree that he is definitely no longer famous for being an actor…
2. He’s reminding us that he is no longer famous
LaBeouf has not been in any big movies lately and has been grabbing headlines with his strange statements and plagiarism. So maybe the actor was simply reminding us that he is still not famous. In case we forgot and stuff.
3. He’s trying to start a trend
Another theory is that LaBeouf wants to be a pioneer and is hence launching a new head wear trend: Say what you really think via paper bag. It’s brilliant. It’s new. It’s going to be big.

4. He’s a little shy
Perhaps after all that hate for plagiarism — which he continues to perpetuate by borrowing quotes from every remotely famous person ever — LaBeouf felt a little shy in front of the cameras. So he opted for a more chivalrous option and slapped a paper bag on that gorgeous head of his. Smart.
What do you think LaBeouf was trying to accomplish or say with his red carpet appearance?
