A visit from the Duchess of Cambridge almost left a group of Harlem tots devastatingly disappointed because they were expecting another princess entirely — but, lucky for her, they let it go, let it goooooooo.
Will and Kate are in the middle of their whirlwind visit to the U.S. and while the prince jetted off to Washington, D.C. for the day, the pregnant duchess spent the morning at the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem, New York City. But it turns out, the kids were expecting a different princess altogether.
“They thought she was the princess from Frozen,” explained Rose Ann Harris, director of early childhood services at the center, to waiting press.
“When they heard she was coming, they thought it was Elsa. We said a princess and they got a princess.”
But as it turns out, there are no hard feelings. “The visit meant everything to the children, they were thrilled and it acknowledges all the hard work of the staff,” Harris said.

Kate also helped a group of grandmothers wrap Christmas gifts for the children before rushing off to the British Consul General’s official residence for lunch.
“We sat together wrapping gifts — she’s my girl,” said volunteer, Mary Dawkins. “She said she has to wrap gifts when she gets home.”
