Stevie Wonder welcomes ninth child: Meet all of his baby mamas

Stevland Hardaway Morris, better known by his stage name Stevie Wonder, has just welcomed his ninth child into the world.

The “I Just Called to Say I Love You” hit maker and his girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy are celebrating the birth of their second child together, a baby girl named Nia, whose name means purpose, his rep confirmed to Us Weekly.

Wonder also has eight other children from previous relationships, ranging in age from teens to 39.

Baby mama #1: Yolanda Simmons

The Grammy-award winning star’s first marriage was to Motown singer/songwriter Syreeta Wright in 1970, but their marriage only lasted 18 months. Then in 1975 he met his first baby mama, Yolanda Simmons.

The two never married but their union did produce two children: Wonder’s first child was a daughter named Aisha Morris, whose name is reportedly African for “strength and intelligence.” Aisha is also a singer and has toured with her father as well as accompanied him on recordings.

Wonder and Simmons also share a son, Keita Morris.

Baby mama #2: Melody McCulley

There is not much information available about Wonder’s second baby mama Melody McCulley, but according to the Daily Mail, in 1983 she had a son, Mumtaz Morris, with the musician.

Mumtaz is following in his father’s footsteps and is also a passionate musician.

Baby mama #3: Karen “Kai” Millard Morris

Wonder’s second wife was fashion designer Karen “Kai” Millard Morris, who he wed in in September 2001.

The former couple was married for 11 years before finally deciding to part ways, citing irreconcilable differences. During their union the “Isn’t She Lovely” singer fathered two sons; the elder is named Kailand (he can sometimes be seen performing onstage as a drummer with his father) and the second son is named Mandla Kadjay Carl Stevland Morris.

According to the Telegraph, when Mandla was born, it was Nelson Mandela who named him.

Baby mama #4: Tomeeka Robyn Bracy

Tomeeka Robyn Bracy is the latest lady in Wonder’s life, and the pair got together after Wonder’s divorce from Karen. The couple shares two children together, although the information on their first child has been kept pretty hush-hush.

There were previously rumors suggesting that Wonder’s girlfriend was pregnant with triplets; however, he denied the claims during an interview with The View.

“I got, how many, 22 kids?” he joked. ‘It’s not true. The truth is we’re going to have a wonderful daughter, born in December, [and her] name is going to be Nia, which [means] purpose.”

Wonder likes his privacy

Wonder may be a singer, songwriter, producer and activist, but when it comes to his private life, he likes to keep it pretty private. Although he has fathered many children during his lifetime, there is no credible evidence as to who is mother to his two children Kwame Morris, a son born on Aug. 6, 1988, according to CNN, and daughter Sophia Morris.
