The “Boyfriend” singer shared a few snaps on Instagram on Christmas Day of a beautiful, brand new private jet, captioned, “New jet for Christmas, and she’s beautiful.

Obviously, the post led us all to believe the Biebs had picked himself up one hell of a Christmas present by buying himself the new ride, but according to TMZ, that may not be the case.

The site reports that the plane, a G4, is actually for sale, but Justin didn’t buy it. In reality, he just chartered it for a holiday flight from his native Canada to New York City. No doubt it was a comfy ride, but it wasn’t a ride in his own private jet.

It’s not too surprising, since the price tag for a brand new G4 is around $60 million and Justin’s entire net worth is estimated to be about $200 million. It would have been a remarkably extravagant purchase, at a little over a quarter of his entire fortune. Worth it, though? Probably. The thing was gorgeous.

Pretending he bought a jet when he actually didn’t seems like a move that would land the Biebs right back on the naughty list, where, let’s face it, he probably belongs. And according to TMZ, it’s not even the first time he’s fibbed online about a big purchase. The site reports Justin posed with a Bugatti for an Instagram pic, captioning the shot, “Uncle Stunna luv. My first Bugatti… #generosity.”

It was later revealed the car wasn’t his — it belongs to rapper Birdman, who was just #generous enough to let JB borrow it for a spin.

Also according to TMZ, the Biebs posed on a rented yacht and pretended it was his, captioning the photo, “It was about that time.”
