Cars continue to play a central role in the Walker family even after actor Paul Walker‘s death on Nov. 30, 2013 in an automobile accident.

Walker’s father, Paul Walker III, has filed a claim against Roger Rodas’ family for $1.8 million. He says the Rodas family estate still has multiple cars in their possession that either belong entirely or partially to his son, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Rodas was the driver of the car in the accident that led to both he and Paul Walker’s deaths when the Porsche they were in hit two trees and a light pole and caught on fire. The two were close friends and business partners. They owned a performance and racing shop together called Always Evolving, which was based out of Valencia, California.

Walker’s father, who is the executor of his son’s estate, is asking that the vehicles either be returned or he be reimbursed for the proportionate value of any sales, also according to Entertainment Weekly.
TMZ is reporting that Rodas’ family has already rejected the claim, which means a judge will most likely be determining an outcome in the upcoming months.
It’s been just over a year since Walker and Rodas were killed. Family and friends took to social media on the one-year anniversary to pay tribute to the actor, whose legacy continues to live on.

Paul Walker’s brother, Cody Walker, spoke to E! News last month to remember his brother. He says his brother’s life taught him to, “Just live your life to the fullest. Laugh a lot, love and find your true happiness. Remember that no matter how cool you think you may be, you’re not cool enough to look down on anyone… ever.”
Despite the actor’s death a year ago, his final film, Fast & Furious 7, won’t be released until Apr. 7, 2015.
