This should come as a surprise to no one.

The holidays are the season of giving and now that they’ve wrapped up, we get to find out who 2014’s most charitable celebrity was. The reigning queen of philanthropy? Taylor Swift, of course.
We really should have seen it coming. This is the chart-topping pop star who sends presents in the mail to her fans just because and hosts private listening parties at her own home for her favorite Swifties on Tumblr. She poses in photos with her cats and fans. She bakes cookies for fans. She might be the nicest person on earth. Or, at least, the nicest celebrity and the most charitable for the third year in a row, according to the annual ranking by DoSomething.org.
And it’s not just Tay Tay’s attitude towards her fans that netted her third charity crown. Just in the last year, Taylor has given to countless charities, including UNICEF, Stand Up to Cancer, Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity, MTV News reports. And in October, she announced that all of the proceeds (all of them!) from her single, “Welcome to New York,” off her new album, 1989, would go to New York public schools.

But it was a new cause in 2014 that helped Taylor nab the top spot on the list for the third year running — according to DoSomething.org, a nonprofit that gets young adults involved with social change campaigns, Taylor’s outspoken support for feminism this year helped push her to the top.
Orange Is the New Black star and LGBT rights activist, Laverne Cox, came in second and champion of the #BeyGood campaign, Beyoncé, nabbed the third spot on the list.
DoSomething.org’s list also included Emma Watson, Demi Lovato and Chris Pratt, who made headlines this year for dressing up as his superhero Guardians of the Galaxy character to visit sick kids in hospitals. Aww.
