Sarah Palin pisses off animal lovers with this pic of her son (PHOTO)

Sarah Palin has tripped up once again — this time with a photo of her son and her very patient family dog.

In a Facebook post to fans, Palin described what she thought was a moment of pure inventiveness on the part of her son Trig when he used their dog as a step stool after she did not pay attention to his requests for help up. Not everyone thought it was as cute as she did, though.

Animal lovers freaked out when they saw the boy putting his full weight on the dog’s spine.

“You want to run your state and the country, but you don’t have the sense to tell your children to stop stepping on your dog’s spine?” one Facebook user wrote.

PETA slammed Palin for the pic, saying through President Ingrid Newkirk, “It’s odd that anyone — let alone a mother — would find it appropriate to post such a thing, with no apparent sympathy for the dog in the photo.”

“Then again, PETA, along with everyone else, is used to the hard-hearted, seeming obliviousness of this bizarrely callous woman,” recalling a 2008 interview Palin gave with turkeys being slaughtered in the background.

Friends of Animals also condemned Palin’s pic. “It’s no surprise to Friends of Animals that Sarah Palin is so insensitive she thinks a Black Lab should be tolerant of a child who isn’t told to not put his full weight on top of the dog’s back by standing on him,” President Priscilla Feral said in a statement. “How lazy of Sarah Palin not to move the dog out of the way and teach her child the right lessons.”

Just months ago the Palin family came under scrutiny for their part in a drunken brawl. We assume Trig and the dog were not there.
