It just got real for The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice.
No more big hair, fake eyelashes and salon trips for the reality TV star. At least for the next 15 months.
Mrs. Giudice, the longest-serving RHONJ cast mate, began her sentence today when she reported to federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, at 3 a.m.

The mother of four daughters reportedly said she was ready, and seven hours before her scheduled surrender time, she entered the minimum security facility to “extremely courteous and respectful” staff and guards.
She will be serving her sentence in a prison much like the one that inspired the show Orange Is the New Black, which, of course, makes us wonder if there will be some kind of Real Housewives of the Prison Yard spin-off.
I put nothing by Bravo.

Teresa and her husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice, pleaded guilty last year to a litany of fraud, tax evasion and bankruptcy fraud charges.
The duo admitted to hiding assets from creditors during bankruptcy proceedings. They were charged with and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in part of a long-running scheme to get millions in mortgage and construction loans using false tax information.
While Teresa serves out her sentence, her husband will raise their girls. Once she has completed her time in prison, Joe will then begin his 41-month sentence.
But things don’t really get better after that.
Joe is not an American citizen, which means that after his sentence is completed, he could face deportation to Italy.
More: Teresa Giudice’s younger daughters don’t know the truth about her prison sentence
It isn’t only the federal government with which the couple has not been honest. They have been open about the charges with only one of their daughters, the oldest, 13-year-old Gia. But the younger daughters know nothing about their parents’ fraud drama. The little girls believe their mother is going to leave them for a very long work engagement.
Looks like the couple will eventually have some explaining to do… once they are out of prison, of course.
