We know Christian Grey will dominate our hearts, but which Fifty Shades of Grey singer will dominate the soundtrack?

Ellie Goulding has released her new single, “Love Me Like You Do,” off the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack and it’s so good I’m listening to it on repeat and wishing I had a Mr. Grey of my own to keep me company.
Still, the song doesn’t exactly inspire visions of a red room of pain. Instead, I imagine frolicking through a forest in a Notebook-inspired love story. And, let’s be real, we all know Fifty Shades is far from innocent.

Of course, Goulding’s music can do no wrong, it seems, and the song is sure to be a big hit. Like I said, I’ve definitely been listening to the catchy tune enough that I almost have all the words down already. The problem is, I’m just not sure how it’s going to fit into the Fifty Shades of Grey plot line.
For a movie that so narrowly dodged an NC-17 rating, Goulding’s song is surprisingly upbeat.

“You’re the light, you’re the night, you’re the color of my blood/You’re the cure, you’re the pain, you’re the only thing I want to touch,” Goulding sings. “Never knew that it could mean so much, so much/You’re the fear, I don’t care ’cause I’ve never been so high/Follow me through the dark, let me take you past a satellite/You can see the world you brought to life.”

Another single from the soundtrack has also been released and it’s a slower and grittier version of Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” that goes so well with the trailer it accompanies, I can hardly imagine a more pop version of the song at this point.

Both songs are great. And you’d better believe I’m going to be buying that soundtrack the second it’s released, but I’m hoping for less pop and more grit on the rest of the tracks.
