Bill Cosby seriously made a joke about rape during his stand-up show

So, Bill Cosby took a little trip over to our northern neighbors up in Canada to do a little stand-up.

No big deal, right? Maybe he thought since Canadians are so nice that slipping in a few wisecracks about his recent disgusting rape scandal would be OK? They’d giggle, think it’s funny. Ha-ha. Chuckle.

No way, right?

Well, that actually happened.

On Thursday, the once-loved and now widely loathed comedian performed in front of a crowd of about 2,600 people.

It all started when a woman dared to get up in the middle of his set. He asked her where she was going, to which she replied she was getting a drink, and like a well-mannered Canadian, offered to get him one, too.

His reply was as offensive as you could imagine. He reportedly said, “You have to be careful about drinking around me.” Yeah, he actually said that to a room full of people.

I’ll give you a second to pick your jaw up off the floor because it’s about to hit the floor again.

The audience collectively gasped… then applauded!

Yeah, that happened, too!

I’ll give you another second to wrap your head around that, although I am not sure you could. My mind is still baffled by how anyone could find that either funny or applause-worthy.

There was at least one reputable person in the crowd. A man reportedly heckled Cosby, saying, “We don’t love you, Bill! You’re a rapist.”

The heckler was thrown out amid a shower of “boos.” (Seriously, they booed the guy who called Cosby a rapist; I just don’t understand those Canadians.)

At the end of the show, the crowd gave him a standing ovation.

This is Cosby’s second show in Canada this year. Since the rape allegations began last year, the comedian has had to cancel almost a dozen shows.

Don’t worry, Canada: If you haven’t had enough of Cosby, he has one more show, and by all means, feel free to keep him. You can call him “Canada’s Dad” instead or something. No, seriously, keep him. Please.
