The former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, has always concerned himself with the sanctity of marriage.
He now also has some thoughts and serious concerns about the king and queen of hip-hop’s marriage, too. Which of course he felt it was totally appropriate to include in his latest memoir.
Fabulous.
I’m sure it’s not racist or offensive at all.

Raw Story published this passage from his book: “Beyoncé is incredibly talented — gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer — without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom.”
Ah, yes. I’m sure Beyoncé will be thrilled he thinks she can “actually sing.”
And that wasn’t creepy or inappropriate at all.
This is what I would like to think Beyoncé has to say about that:
But it gets so much better.
He continues, saying, “Jay Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”
Does it occur to him that his remarks are grossly offensive?
It’s almost impossible to take in all the terrible BS from this short passage. I can only imagine what gems the rest of this book holds.

So let’s try to get this straight.
Here’s the one-sentence rundown on Huckabee: He is a former Fox News windbag and former pastor (this guy seem to be a former lot of things) who is an advocate for traditional marriage and thinks that if gay marriage is allowed, it will somehow lead to bisexuals wanting to be married to more than one person. Because that clearly makes sense.
Now, he thinks a woman who is successful, who also happens to have a successful husband, must be under the control, as a sex worker is to a pimp, of her husband.

Maybe Huckabee missed the fact that Beyoncé was wildly successful before she was married to Jay Z or that the rapper often takes a backseat to his wife, as on her track Drunk in Love. He doesn’t seem to think a woman can make professional decisions without her man’s direction, which obviously is the same as pimping her.
All we really can do is roll our eyes at this guy. Please don’t go buy his book when it comes out.
