Eminem teenage fan Gage Garmo has died, just one day after the rapper’s visit to his home. He was 17 years old.

According to the New York Daily News, Rainbow Connection Executive Director Mary Grace McCarter revealed on Tuesday that Garmo’s parents told her that he died on Monday in their Rochester Hills, Michigan, home.
Garmo had been suffering from a rare form of bone cancer called Osteosarcoma (he was diagnosed three years ago), and was spending his final days at home when a social media campaign was launched by his friends to help him meet the “Lose Yourself” rapper, who was his music idol.

Thanks to the help of the Michigan-based charity Rainbow Connection (which grants wishes to children facing terminal illnesses and which set up the meeting) Garmo’s wish came true on Sunday when Eminem appeared in his living room to spend some quality time with him. According to the Detroit Free Press, the “Love the Way You Lie” hit maker and his sick teen fan sat in the family’s living room, talking about hip-hop and football.
Shady Records labelmate Royce da 5’9″ took to Instagram to share the picture of Garmo that had been circling social media in a bid to get Eminem’s attention, which he captioned, “Mission accomplished. God Bless this beautiful kid and thank you guys for all your hard work….”
TMZ reports that Garmo’s family revealed that the visit from Eminem really raised Garmo’s spirits.
