People magazine reports that a Los Angeles judge revoked the R&B singer’s probation on Thursday because Brown was on the scene of a San Jose, California, nightclub where five people were shot and wounded, despite a provision in his probation that said he wasn’t allowed to leave LA.
Brown attended his Thursday hearing with his mom and girlfriend, People reports. He wasn’t taken into custody, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin reportedly asked the probation department to further investigate the shooting to see whether it involved Brown in any way, according to the Associated Press.
There’s no word yet on what the violation means for Brown or whether he’ll have to serve any time for the incident, but he has been ordered to return to court on March 20.

According to People, the shooting happened at the Fiesta Nightclub in San Jose, where Brown was giving a private performance at a birthday party. He was in the middle of his song, “Loyal,” when, according to Entertainment Weekly, San Jose police said that “an altercation in an area of the venue resulted in gunshots.”
Brown was rushed off stage by his security team as the fight resulted in non-lethal injuries for five people.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Brown tweeted, “I’m 100,” immediately after the incident to let fans know he was OK, but the tweet was deleted soon after.
People reports that Los Angeles district attorney spokesman Jane Robison told the Los Angeles Times the only provision Brown had violated was the one saying he couldn’t leave LA, but that the singer also still needs to complete 200 of 1,000 hours of assigned community service.
