English singer Sam Smith has many fans, but Howard Stern has made it very clear that he is not one of them!

The Sirius XM radio host let his disdain for the singer be known live on the air by calling him “fat” and “ugly” among many other insulting remarks. According to Us Weekly, it happened during a countdown of the top songs and when they got to Smith’s hit track “Stay With Me,” Stern let loose.
“You know what I like about the guy? He’s an ugly motherf***er. He’s fat. Is he gay? He looks gay to me, not that anybody looks gay, but he does seem effeminate,” the host said.

And it just got even stranger from there. Stern then decided to give the singer a backhanded compliment, saying, “I like that he’s chubby and gay. That’s why I love him. He’s one of those guys I feel like, he’s really good but I feel like that will be his only hit song — beautiful voice,” he said.
“That’s how good that song is. He’s fat, and he’s gay and little girls worship him. That’s when you know you have a good song and a good voice,” Stern added.

Really, these comments are so unnecessary and so confusing, but Smith decided to take the high road in his response. Although he did mention Stern’s comments via a cryptic Twitter post, the “Money on My Mind” hit maker remained classy.
