Ben Affleck, Matt Damon make fun of the NFL (VIDEO)

Jimmy Kimmel has gotten to the bottom of Deflategate with some help from his celebrity friends.

In the hilarious spoof video, megastars and Patriots fans like Ben Affleck, Chris Evans, Matt Damon and John Krasinski all take the blame to protect their hero, Tom Brady.

The Deflategate controversy stems from an NFL investigation following the AFC Championship game to determine why underinflated footballs were used during the game. Some have claimed that the deflated balls were a deliberate attempt by the New England Patriots and their quarterback, Tom Brady, to sabotage the game and steal the Super Bowl from the Colts.

While football regulation requires the pressure to be between 12 1/2 and 13 1/2 pounds per square inch (PSI), a majority of the balls used during the first half of the game were about one PSI short. The NFL announced today that it has yet to decide whether the deflation was intentional or simply negligent, but it is taking the inquiry seriously.

At least someone is, because Kimmel is definitely not.

“I don’t know if the people we’re about to see are trying to protect Tom Brady. Or if they want attention. Or if they’re mentally ill,” Kimmel says to introduce the clip. He continues, “Well, make of this what you will.”

“A guy named Tommy told me one of them balls had a genie in it,” a guy who looks a lot like Captain America with a mustache says, explaining why he had to squeeze some air out of each one to test the theory.

The guy who resembles Damon, on the other hand, claims he deflated a little of the air to save his nephew’s life, who was suffering from bronchitis at the game. “And it does the trick. It absolutely saves his lungs.”

And so the stories go.

Even Steven Tyler gets in on the fun. “It was me,” the rocker says with a pouty look as he holds up a caved in football.

“I’m the locker room guy!” They all proclaim in turn to wrap up the video.
