Mariah Carey‘s first-ever performance at the 2015 Jazz And Blues Festival in Jamaica was a memorable one, but for all the wrong reasons.

In fact, the singer is probably trying hard to forget Friday night’s performance, which saw her forgetting the lyrics to her hit track “Fantasy” — and things only got worse from then onward.
At one point in Carey’s performance, she can be seen trying to cover her mouth with the microphone and rearranging her earpiece, but the singing keeps going on, which makes it look as though she may be lip-syncing to a prerecorded version of the song — either that, or she just let the backing track take over.
Carey tried hard to keep up with the song, but she just got swallowed up, and her performance was pretty painful to watch. No doubt fans who forked out upward of $200 to attend the show were left feeling very disappointed.

It’s been a tough few months for Carey, who has recently split from husband Nick Cannon, and there are some unpleasant reports circling about her, too.
According to Star magazine, via the Hollywood Gossip, a source revealed to them that the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hit maker has been drinking the cough syrup-codeine concoction, also known as “Sizzurp,” in an attempt to treat her throat problems.
“Just days after receiving a prescription, Mariah had her people call the doctor to say that she’d lost her prescription,” a source told the publication. “The truth is, she’d already drank all the syrup and wanted more.”

So far, there is no concrete evidence to suggest Carey is actually suffering from an addiction, but there have been previous reports suggesting that all is not well in the songstress’ life. Last year, a source revealed to OK!Magazine that Carey was suffering emotionally following her split from Cannon, saying she had a Champagne habit and that “Nick wanted Mariah to go to rehab.”
