Even Grey’s star, Sara Ramirez, tweeted her approval of the idea, which led to Rodriguez calling out show creator, Shonda Rhimes, saying she, “Loves all the positive love around this idea.”

Rhimes has yet to respond to the Jane the Virgin star, but we can’t see why Rhimes wouldn’t at least consider Rodriguez’s addition to the show. The girl just won a Golden Globe, after all, which means her television demand is most likely blowing up in the new year.

Plus, Rodriguez would be perfect for the show. Rhimes creates worlds with not just strong female characters, but real female characters. (Thank you, again, Maggie Gyllenhaal, for that little gem of a line during the Golden Globes this year.) And Rodriguez won her Globe for her portrayal of a real woman experiencing some unreal circumstances. Plus, all you have to do is follow Rodriguez on Twitter to understand just how adorable and awesome the rising star is.

Fans instantly latched on to the idea of Rodriguez appearing on Grey’s and joined the social media conversation.

As reported by Inquisitr, Grey’s will definitely be getting some new characters in the second half of Season 11, including one transgender character named Travis, who is transitioning from a man to a woman.

Fans suggested that Rodriguez would be perfect as Callie’s sister, which would give her a nice long reason to be on the show.

Do you think Shonda Rhimes should cast Gina Rodriguez on Grey’s Anatomy?
