Beyoncé will take to the Grammys stage this year, not to promote herself, but to honor Oscar-nominated film, Selma, and the song, “Glory,” from the film.
According to Billboard, Common and John Legend, who wrote “Glory” for the film, are already scheduled to perform.

The outlet is reporting that Beyoncé will take the stage to sing “Take My Hand, Precious Lord,” before segueing into “Glory,” with Common, Legend, the Andraé Crouch Choir and, potentially, the Blind Boys of Alabama.
None of the reps for Beyoncé or the other performers have yet to comment on her addition, but we are keeping our fingers crossed Billboard is correct, because this performance set sounds absolutely amazing.

Aside from performing, Beyoncé is also nominated for six Grammys, including Album of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. Beyoncé is already the third most honored woman of the Grammys ever. She has 17 awards under her belt, including her wins with Destiny’s Child. She is also the most nominated woman in history with 52 nominations. Basically, what we’re saying is she’s like the Meryl Streep of the Grammys and rightfully so.
Fourteen other big names have also been announced as performers, including Madonna, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, among others. The award show took to Twitter to announce their first round of performers a few weeks ago.

Taylor Swift was rumored to be a performer, but she confirmed Monday that she would be taking the stage only to present this year and not to sing a song from her hit album, 1989. Sorry, T-Swift, I’m a huge fan, but Beyoncé kinda makes up for the lack of a Swift performance this year.
