“Ellen DeGeneres made me hate my life” is not a typical thing you would expect to hear from a guest on the hilarious host’s talk show, but that’s exactly what happened when Jimmy Fallon made an appearance.
The queen of all pranks made Fallon to believe he was recording a public service message about recycling, when, in fact, she had much more in store. DeGeneres goaded Fallon into looking away from the backstage area just long enough for a gigantic fuzzy peacock to creep up behind the comedian to scare the bejesus out of him. The result was fantastic and we’re pretty sure Fallon needed his shorts washed tout de suite.
While frightening someone so perfectly is an effort that most can only pull off once in a blue moon, DeGeneres has mastered the art of scaring the pee out of her guests on a regular basis. Check out all of the celebs she’s startled just for our entertainment.

DeGeneres has gotten Stonestreet on multiple occasions, but the Modern Family actor just keeps coming back for more!

DeGeneres heard a rumor that Quaid was terrified of rats, so she had to find out for sure. From the look on his face, the answer is a resounding “yes.”

Turns out Black’s animated movements aren’t only part of his comedic acting, he’s quite lively when he’s afraid, too. “Not cool,” says the man wearing the tie-dye shirt for a nationally televised interview.
8. Miley Cyrus
It appears that after all the backlash, Cyrus is now terrified of appearing on stage with Robin Thicke and a foam finger.
9. Taylor Swift
DeGeneres has gotten Swifty a total of eight, yes eight, times. Leave it to Taylor to look adorable even while in the fetal position on the bathroom floor.
10. Richard Simmons
Simmons may be scared out of his mind, but he damn sure still knows how to run in place, just like the good ol’ days when he was making his aerobics videos.
