So we have to make the pun right away….
Because we all know you are thinking it: This gives sex toys a whole new meaning.
OK, now that we have that out of our systems, onto all the rest of the hilarity that is the Fifty Shades of Grey LEGO overhaul.
Artist Antonio Toscano, a film editor and stop-motion animator, has turned another blockbuster movie trailer into a LEGO brick masterpiece. The same way he did for The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.
This time he has created a scene-for-scene, frame-by-frame copy of the full Fifty Shades of Grey trailer.
And it does not disappoint.

The artist hand-painted all of the costumes and props, and the entire thing is made out of LEGO bricks. Grey even sports his ripped six-pack, and Ms. Steele gets a hint of cleavage in the “Red Room of Death” scene at the end.
The change of LEGO people’s expressions are so spot-on it makes the real actors seem amateurish.
OK, let’s maybe not go that far, but seriously though, the facial expressions are awesome.

Is it just me or does it seem that after watching the LEGO video you feel the movie might actually be better if the entire thing were in LEGO?
I read the books, begrudgingly if I’m being honest, and the similarity to an adult version of Twilight just seems even more glaring in film. This LEGO version looks like I might actually be able to get through the entire thing.
The only part I would want changed: Instead of Beyoncé’s voice at the end, I think we need it to bust into “Everything Is Awesome” just for good measure.
Boom: Complete.
Even better? Someone put together a side-by-side comparison to the original, real-people version so you can see just how closely Toscano gets. And it’s pretty damn close.
