The Pretenders and Blondie

Here’s your chance to see two legendary bands fronted by females. Deborah Harry and Chrissie Hynde are performing in ‘A day on the green’ winery shows in all Australian states.

The fun starts in St. Kilda, Melbourne on 1 and 2 December followed by a performance on the 4th of December at Rochford Wines in Coldstream, Victoria. A December 12th show takes place at Sirromet Winery in Mount Cotton, Queensland.

Brisbane’s Sunset Sounds

Held 5 and 6 January, this festival of vast music types celebrates its third year in 2011 at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and the River Stage. This year’s line-up includes Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Angus and Julia Stone, Ladyhawke and Public Enemy.

Woodford Folk Festival

Set to go off 27 December to 1 January in the Sunshine Coast, Woodford is becoming as popular as Big Day Out. Folk fans from across the world to glimpse more than 2,000 performers and 580 events. The music plays on a 500-acre environmental parkland in Jinibara Country owned by the Queensland Folk Federation. And there’s more than song — street theatre, dances, comedy shows, a film festival, circus acts and a separate program focused on the environment are sure to keep guests entertained and informed.
