Guy Pearce won an Emmy, but other Australian celebrities also attended the awards show. Rachael Taylor presented at the Emmys and Andy Whitfield was honoured in a video montage.
AUSSIES ON THE EMMY RED CARPET
While Guy Pearce may have stole the show with his Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his Mildred Pierce role, he wasn’t the only Australian representing at the awards show.
Rachael Taylor, who is starring in the new Charlie’s Angels series premiering this week in America, presented an award with co-stars Minka Kelly and Annie Ilonzeh. Drew Barrymore, creator of the new Charlie’s Angels and a former angel herself, stood along with the trio. Rachael Taylor wore a sparkly, strapless cream gown by Armani and had her blonde bob swept into a side part. The Charlie’s Angels girls presented the award for outstanding lead actor in a drama series.
ANOTHER EMMY NOD
Rachael Taylor was the only Australian actress to grace the Emmy red carpet, but other entertainers from Down Under factored in the awards show.
Another Australian was up for an Emmy in the Outstanding Reality Show category. Kim Kilbey, formerly of Australia’s Funniest Home Video Show, works in Los Angeles as a supervising producer for Dancing with the Stars. That show lost out to the The Amazing Race.
Andy Whitfield was honoured in the video montage of celebrities who passed away in the last year. The Spartacus actor died more than a week ago in Sydney after battling cancer for 18 months. Also included in the montage were Elizabeth Taylor, Jill Clayburgh and Peter Falk.
