There’s been a lot of hype surrounding the Fifty Shades of Grey film thanks to the massive success of the book series and, well, the subject matter. But for Today‘s Lisa Wilkinson, the movie didn’t even come close to living up to all that hype. In fact, it may have had the opposite effect.
Wilkinson didn’t hold back with her very honest feelings about the movie. She started her review by noting that her husband had a big smile on his face when he found out she was going to see the erotic film. However, in perhaps the most telling sign that the movie was a disappointment, she later revealed that he didn’t get any that night.
She gave the movie one star and said, “Fifty Shades of Grey is, quite simply, the worst movie I’ve ever seen.” Other notable lines from her review include, “Fifty Shades of Grey is more appalling than appealing” and “It’s domestic violence dressed up as erotica. And if there is one thing this movie is not, it’s erotic.”
So, will you take her word for it and skip the movie? Or do you plan to see it anyway?
