Alex from Target is going on tour: 5 Things you need to know

Internet sensation Alex from Target swept the country when a photo of him bagging items surfaced online. Based on a quick view of his very first YouTube video, it’s safe to say that the viral star is looking to cash in on his newfound fame.

In the video, which has already garnered over 77,000 views, Alex Lee tells viewers that he has a lot of things coming up in the near future, including a planned tour, a line of merchandise, an upcoming appearance in a music video and a cameo in a movie. Yup, you may need to read that again. He is going on tour to cities across the United States. Talk about becoming a quick entrepreneur.

3 Reasons we don’t get the “Alex from Target” craze

Don’t worry if you’re scratching your head, because we’re doing the same. Since when did #AlexfromTarget become a singer? We thought he was just one of those famous-for-nothing folks, aside from a few straggling comparisons to a young Justin Bieber. SheKnows did a little digging to see what exactly Lee’s tour plans include, and we’ve uncovered a few bits of information in case, you know, you have the odd desire to see the teen sensation in real life.

  1. Lee is part of DigiTour’s 2015 lineup
Lee has partnered up with DigiTour. For those who aren’t aware of the company, DigiTour’s official Facebook biography describes the trek as the “world’s first social media tour and music festival.” Think of Woodstock for a crapload of teenage girls, just without the huge emphasis on music.
 2. It’s a 10-city trek
It seems to be like a pretty solid gig for the former Target sales associate. On Thursday, Feb. 12, Lee took to Instagram to announce that he’ll be traveling to 10 cities across the U.S., starting on the East Coast and wrapping up in Anaheim, California. We hope he’s also doing some homeschooling during the process.

3. He won’t be alone

Lee is actually a last-minute addition to DigiTour’s 2015 lineup, which already boasts a string of other viral sensations. The acts include Hayes Grier, Taylor Caniff, Sam Pottorff and many more. Now, based on some glances at their social media accounts, most of these guys are young men who seem to have a lot of YouTube chatter videos. Pottorff did just drop a single, so one can only assume you’ll get some singing from him.

4. He’s going to be meeting with fans

If you cop yourself a VIP ticket, then plan on meeting with several of the guys from the tour, including Alex from Target. Since the tour kicks off tomorrow, most of the packages are sold out, but if you do snag a ticket, then expect to have your very own one-on-one moment with the guy who was bagging products at that Target in Frisco, Texas, just a few months ago.

5. Music will be involved to some capacity

So is Alex from Target going to show off his singing chops? We’re not exactly sure. DigiTour shows appear to be part concert and part meet-and-greet, so we’re going to have to wait and see. However, if you take a look around the video section of the official DigiTour website, you’ll see plenty of compilation videos of tweens gushing about the show as well as bands onstage, so there will be music involved. It just might not be from these viral gents.

Does this viral video insult dads?
