Kim Kardashian is part of a viral campaign promoting plus-size acceptance (PHOTO)

Photoshop is usually done to make folks
look slimmer, but it looks like Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and a whole string of stars known for their killer bodies have received the plus-size treatment from Spanish artist David Lopera.

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, you might have noticed a bunch of photos of female celebrities on your timelines, but with a little extra weight added to them. That’s because of Lopera, a computer technician who originally found fame when his first piece of work (a manipulated photo of Katy Perry’s cover for her 2008 album One of the Boys) went viral. Fast-forward seven years later, and his images of Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Mila Kunis and Rita Ora have all taken over the blogosphere.

Speaking with the New York Daily News, Lopera says this hobby of his is done because he wants to show the world the beauty in plus-size women. He’s also hoping to really “change people’s mind[s] about beauty standards.”

As for how long it takes Lopera to manipulate each photo, the artist says it takes somewhere between three to four hours. What’s even better is that Lopera does most of his work for free. Yup, you read that right. He told the New York Daily News that he does “95 percent of his work totally free” despite the demand of requests.

Lopera’s heavyset work is just a hobby for now, but he says he’d love to dedicate his life to something like this. “Look at my pictures and you will see that big is beautiful… but there are many people today who don’t agree with that,” he said. “However, when they see my gorgeous, fat celebrities, I think they might realize how wrong they are.”

What do you think of Lopera’s work? Would you appreciate seeing more plus-size celebrities in the spotlight? Tell us your thoughts below.
