Buffy alum Nicholas Brendon is suffering a disease most ‘don’t understand’

Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon ?landed himself in hot water on Monday.

The actor was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after he allegedly trashed his Hilton hotel room, People magazine reports. He was charged with grand theft and criminal mischief.

According to the police report, which was obtained by TMZ, Brendon drunkenly trashed his hotel room and managed to cause $450 worth of damage. He also racked up a food bill of almost $380 in food and drink charges, which he refused to pay for.

Staff called the authorities after they found Brendon “passed out” on the floor of a staffer’s office, People magazine reports. And according to the police report, Brendon was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The actor’s rep commented on the incident, saying that that Brendon is “battling a disease that many of us don’t understand.

“Nicholas is, unfortunately, battling a disease that many of us don’t understand. We are working with him to improve upon the situation at hand and look toward the future. He’s sorry for his actions and takes what happened last night very seriously. We will take great care to ensure his safety in the future,” the rep said in a statement to TMZ.

Brendon’s Facebook page also addressed the arrest with a post saying, “We’re aware of the arrest. We appreciate the love. We want nothing more than for Nick to focus on his health and personal well being at this time.”

It has been a tough week for Brendon, who just three days prior to his arrest announced that he and his wife of five months, Moonda Tee, would be ending their marriage.

We hope that whatever demons Brendon is battling, he gets the help that he needs.
