It’s been a dramatic week for Fashion Police, and the newest information that Kelly Osbourne has officially quit the show means the hard times are far from over.

“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!’s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities,” E! confirmed. “We would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers.”
Though Giuliana Rancic’s Zendaya insult fueled Osbourne’s fire, TMZ is reporting that she’s been frustrated with the show for a long while — since the first taping without Joan Rivers.
“Producers and Kelly were at odds before the Giuliana Rancic showdown,” TMZ writes. Based on information they gathered from multiple sources who are close to the show, Osbourne was apparently unhappy with the way the show was being produced.

Osbourne did threaten to quit over Rancic’s racist comments since Zendaya was a good friend of hers, but Rancic apologized — twice publicly — and it seemed at the time the issue would be put to rest. Zendaya accepted the host’s apology, and Osbourne even sent out a tweet that suggested she was willing to forgive and forget.

Osbourne joined the show in 2010, after getting third place on Season 9 of Dancing with the Stars in 2009. She became an official correspondent for the show in 2011. With her stylish purple hair and sassy style commentary, Osbourne is credited with being a key component of the show’s becoming a hit.
E! has yet to announce a replacement.
