In the trailer for Teen Mom OG, we saw Amber Portwood‘s boyfriend, Matt Baier, ask her to marry him — but rumors are suggesting that the proposal was a massive ploy.

“He proposed in November, and she accepted,” an insider told RadarOnline, but there is reportedly more to the story than meets the eye.
“The proposal was all for show,” the insider told the publication, adding that Baier, who is reportedly unemployed and a father of two, “doesn’t have that kind of money” to purchase a massive diamond ring.

Portwood has cleaned up her life and appears to be in a much better place, but apparently her relationship with Baier (who is 20 years her senior) is far from stable, which is something that she probably needs in her life right now.
Although the pair looked very happy together in the trailer for Teen Mom OG (and we’re sure we’ll get to know him a lot better during the show), according to RadarOnline, they broke up after a massive fight at the end of January — although they reportedly got back together one week later.

The insider also told the publication that the pair fights often, saying, “They have a very tumultuous relationship. They get into big fights and Matt says he’s moving out. But then hours later, they act like everything is fine.”
However, Portwood has denied these claims about her beau. Taking to Twitter on Monday, she poked fun at the RadarOnline article and their source.
