Can we all just take a minute to talk about how nasty Hilary Duff has been about Aaron Carter and his declarations of love?
More:8 Times Aaron Carter posted about his undying love for Hilary Duff
Yes, Carter’s comments about losing the love of his life did come out of nowhere, and Twitter was hardly the place to tell your sweetheart that you regretted losing her. So, we’re sure they made the Lizzie McGuire actress feel a little awkward, but if she did not feel the same way about Carter, there was really no need to keep bringing it up and belittling the poor guy.
During a recent interview in Cosmopolitan’s April issue, Duff once again poked fun at Carter, saying, “Him reaching out through social media? It’s ridiculous! But then people do it all the time, like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages.”

While Duff does have a point, and we totally agree that private matters should be just that, private, we can’t help but think it’s a bit nasty and tacky to keep bringing up the topic — and Carter thinks so, too.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the “I Want Candy” singer tweeted a cryptic message, which appears to be aimed at Duff and telling her to stop talking about it because he has.

And his next tweet was even more cryptic.

Maybe there are some unresolved feelings on Duff’s part? We wouldn’t be surprised if she felt a bit of resentment toward Carter, who allegedly cheated on her with Lindsay Lohan. But we agree with Carter on this one. It’s time to stop talking about his public declarations of love — he already did last September.
