Chloë Sevigny throws major shade at Jennifer Lawrence: Is she just jealous?

Apparently, Chloë Sevigny is not a fan of the saying, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” because the actress was quick to put Jennifer Lawrence down in a recent interview.

Sevigny made it clear she isn’t on the JLaw train during her interview in the spring issue of V magazine.

The Hunger Games starlet came up in conversation because Sevigny was discussing how she believes you need to have a “big personality” in order to make it in Hollywood, which is why she could never be an “A-lister.” (But with an Oscar nomination and a host of TV and movie roles under her belt, including Big Love and American Horror Story, we’d say the actress is doing just fine. But, I digress…) 

In Sevigny’s defense, she started on a positive note, “I love when a movie star is a great movie star,” she told the magazine. “I think Angelina Jolie is a great movie star.”

She also added that she loves Emma Stone because “whenever she’s herself, she’s really cute.”

But when it comes to Lawrence, Sevigny isn’t feeling it. At all.

“Jennifer Lawrence I find annoying,” Sevigny explained. “Too crass.”

It’s unclear if Sevigny is talking generally about what she’s seen in the actress during public appearances and movies or if she’s actually met Lawrence before.

Ironically, Sevigny recognizes that she doesn’t have what it takes to make everyone love her, saying it’s probably why she “never reached another level” in her career.

“They’ll have a really peppy funny girl on the talk show rounds, and everybody adores her and loves her and wants to be her or f*** her, and then so many more people want to watch the movie or TV show.”

And while Lawrence may not be Sevigny’s cup of tea, she seems to fit the above quote just perfectly, so we’re not exactly sure the point Sevigny was trying to make other than to just make it clear she isn’t a JLaw fan.

So, was Sevigny just making those comments about Lawrence to prove her point or does she really have some beef with the actress?
