Farrah Abraham explains the real reasons she returned to Teen Mom

Farrah Abraham has broken her silence about her controversial return to Teen Mom OG.

The reality TV star was, at first, not asked back to film the new show amid multiple reports that the other girls, Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood, did not want Abraham involved and wouldn’t be a part of the show if she were to return. But well into filming, producers gave her a ring, much to everyone’s surprise.

According to MTV, it felt “something was missing” from the show, that something being Farrah. Abraham decided, “It’s good to be back for Sophia’s sake and showing how our lives are to help others.”

She told Us Weekly, “When I got the call to come back, it was a little bit awkward for me, and I tried to work with them the best that I could. I was just a little bit reluctant because of the progress I’d made while I was not on the show.”

Let’s be real for a second.

They can beat around the bush all they want, but MTV did the other Teen Mom OG cast members wrong by inviting Farrah back mid-filming, giving them no opportunity to not be involved in something they might not want to be involved in, and it’s awkward for everyone because Abraham decided to get into the adult film industry.

OK, there we said it.

Bookout was particularly not pleased. During the interview with Us Weekly, she said, “I’m not going to lie and say I was happy about it… And it has nothing to personally do with Farrah at all. I have no hard feelings towards her whatsoever.”

Lowell claims her own problems were with “outsiders” rehashing old issues between the two moms and a lack of communication, which caused her to “jump to conclusions.”

They might say they don’t have a problem with Abraham’s life choices, but MTV has said it was initially hesitant to include her because of her adult film involvement. It reportedly felt she was a bad example to the network’s impressionable audience and not in line with the show’s message of teen pregnancy prevention.

There’s no judgment about Abraham’s choices here. She can do what she wants, including porn. But it seems like the network should have been up-front with everyone involved, both Abraham and the other cast members about its intentions.

I guess we will just have to wait and see when the show airs in just a few days.
