Bethenny Frankel is so turned off by marriage after struggling through her divorce that she has made a new vow about her future.
The Skinnygirl mogul and reality star has been trudging through a bitter divorce from her ex, Jason Hoppy, for over two years — longer than they were married — and because of that, she said she will never, ever do it again.
“I will never get legally married again,” Frankel tells Andy Cohen during an upcoming appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “It doesn’t mean that I won’t commit to someone. I’m not jaded, I’m not bitter about love, I think there are amazing guys out there in the world — it’s none of that. I will never, ever be legally married again.”

Alluding to her drawn-out court battle with Hoppy, she explained, “Marriage is the Hotel California. You can check out at any time but you can never leave.”
Frankel and Hoppy have fought over things as serious as custody and the division of marital property to things as frivolous as him not liking her sending professional movers to pick up her stuff and her not liking how he paid his lawyers, via investor money.
It’s been a rough couple of years for Frankel. In addition to the 2013 split, her talk show was canned after less than one season. She is heading back to the show that made her famous, The Real Housewives of New York City, but even on the preview for that she can be heard saying, “It’s like starting over. No talk show, no marriage… my divorce has made me a vulnerable person.”
So is this a promise Bethenny can keep? Maybe, maybe not. She certainly doesn’t need a man — she sold her Skinnygirl biz for a reported $100 million and sure doesn’t need anyone’s financial support. Plus, this wasn’t her first time at the rodeo, as she had a brief one-year marriage back in 1996. But we also know how badly she always wants to “do the right thing,” like marrying Hoppy because she was pregnant despite later admitting she knew he was not the love of her life.
So what happens the next time she gets swept off her feet? That remains to be seen, but we hope she does find someone to share her life with, whatever that might look like to her.
