Fans are furious at Game of Thrones‘ huge spoiler plan

Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and Daniel Brett Weiss, have revealed that the HBO show will spoil George R.R. Martin‘s book series ending, which has some fans so angry, they’re abandoning the TV show.

It’s been a question on many uber-fans’ minds for a while now: How will the show handle the fact that Martin is a notoriously slow writer? It can take the fantasy author a decade to finish one of his books. And the series just doesn’t have that long to wait for the final two installments that are left before the series of seven is finished.

When asked about the problem during an appearance at the Oxford Union, Benioff revealed they have been in close contact with Martin about the problem and have a strategy moving forward, according to Moviefone. But, ultimately, the creator said, “The show must go on.”

And though the show might go on, some fans are abandoning ship at the news, vowing not to watch the remainder of the series until Martin releases his remaining books.

Benioff didn’t clarify exactly when the show would start integrating these spoilers, though they have confirmed they are going off book for quite a few characters moving forward, including some deaths we won’t expect.

Season 5 of Game of Thrones premieres April 12 on HBO.

Do you have the willpower to stop watching the show while you wait for Martin’s remaining books to be released?
